Antalya Golf Club
In May 1998 European Golf Design were awarded a contract to design two 18 hole golf courses in the region of Belek, 30km to the east of Antalya on the Turkish Mediterranean coast. Chosen for its outstanding beauty, the sandy site features a diversity of vegetation. At 7,023 yards, par 72, the golf course threads its way through magnificent Umbrella Pines, eucalyptus trees and areas of swampland. Views of the Mediterranean can be seen from the highest points on the course, the 5th green and 6th tee. The course was completed in May 2001.

Royal Antwerp Golf Course
This course was built in 1888 by Willie Park, Jr. and Tom Simpson. It is an 18- hole, par 73, 6378-meter course. Besides golf de Pau the Royal Antwerp Golf Club is one of the oldest established golf courses on the continent. It dates back to 1888, when it was constructed by Willie Park in an extensive area of woodland just north of Antwerp. It was modernized by Tom Simpson in 1920 and even today it retains its special character. Eighteen well-modeled fairways extend through heather, shrubs and bushes and various trees such as silver birches and pines.

Club de Golf Costa Teguise
Situated at the foot of an old volcano with ocean-view vistas from nearly every hole, the setting at Costa Teguise is magnificent. Built in 1978 and designed by John Harris, the course is blessed with warm temperatures all year. Straight greens are a pleasure to putt on, but beware of missing the fairway.

Konstantinos Karamanlis Golf Club
If the Gods of Olympus played golf then Glyfada's Golf Course would have been their first choice. This delightful 18-hole course, Par 72, only twenty five minutes from Athens, winds its way through umbrella pines with pent-grass greens leaning towards the sea and its cooling breezes. Whilst playing on a course studded with 15.000 pine trees a golfer can enjoy a scenic view of the Saronic islands and the Peloponnesian coastline and almost always play under idyllic weather conditions and of course, the perennial blue skies of Greece. The course was designed and built in 1962 by D. Harradine and in 1979 remodeled by the American Golf architect Robert Trent Jones. Howick Golf Club
The Musick Point golf course (Howick Golf Club) is one of the most spectacular in the North Island, offering golfers 360 degree views of the Hauraki Gulf which with its adjacent rural landscape makes playing here a delight to the senses. The course layout offers a full 18-hole, 5409m championship round of golf with a welcoming clubhouse in which to relax and enjoy the company of friendly residents. Cliff-side holes are a feature.

Real Club de Golf el Prat
Designed by course architects J. Arana and D. Thomas, the Real Club de Golf El Prat is a 36 hole course with a par 72 rating. The course is situated on the lower coastal sandy area of the Delta de Llobregat a few kilometers from Barcelona. There are two 18 hole championship courses. The Yellow course has many water holes, is somewhat difficult, and has Bermuda greens that are good but slow. It is the flatter of two courses and has few trees. Both courses are characterized with flat fairways and difficult greens. The Green course is easier and is more attractive with more trees. Play on the fairways follows long green stretches among pinewoods and water obstacles.

Kerikeri Golf Club
Kerikeri golf course is of true championship quality and can be played by intermediate or beginner golfers by playing off normal club tees. This challenging 18 hole course is situated on the outskirts of beautiful Kerikeri. It is regarded as one of the best golf clubs in New Zealand due to its exciting layout of bunkers, water hazards and spectacular views. This course lays out to be 6,101 meters and many premier golf tournaments are played here.

The Royal Belfast Golf Club
An 18 hole, par 70 , 6184 course. The Royal Belfast Golf Club is one of the only four "Royal" Golf Clubs in Ireland and is also the oldest club in Ireland having been founded on the 9th of November 1881. This historic landmark was the inspiration for the growth and organization of the game in Ireland.

Carenage Bay Beach & Golf Resort
This 18 hole golf course - 18 tees, 13 greens, par 72, covers an area of 24 hectares, half on the flat, flanking the coastline, and half on the hillside.

Bergen Golf Club
No details about the course are available at this time, but Bergen is nestled at the foot of dramatic mountains, on the west coast of Norway. The harbor is surrounded by colorful wooden houses, with many nice shops, especially for ski sweaters, painted wooden boxes and utensils, and other goods unique to Norway. The hillsides are lush green, and golfers can expect spectacular views.

Chateau des Vigiers Golf Club
Dating back to 1597, Chateau des Vigiers is an internationally renowned Golf & Country Club with a strong French flavor. It is an officially recommended resort of the PGA of Europe and a member of "Relais du Golf". The 425 acre estate is unique in that it combines a beautiful 400 year old Chateau an 18 hole par 72 golf course, its own vineyards, superb food and friendly multilingual service. Chateau des Vigiers received "the highest level of excellence" award for European Country Hotels from Johansens Hotel Guide in 1997 and the gold award for Best French Development from international property magazine in 1998. This club was voted among the top 50 Golf resorts in the world in 1998 by Golf Style International.

Brisbane Golf Club
The Brisbane Golf Club has a proud tradition of golfing pleasure. Since 1896 members and associates have enjoyed an exclusive yet friendly and supportive golfing environment. As the first golf club established in the Brisbane area, the course has hosted numerous State and National Championships and has evolved into a first class playing facility. The undulating terrain is challenging yet pleasurable to play.

Buenos Aires Golf Club
The Buenos Aires Country Club is a 27-hole course with a limited number of private residential home sites looking onto the course. The club hosted the Argentina Open, and South American Amateur, two of the most prestigious events in South America, in successive weeks, in December 1994, one year after opening. As the lead architect, in charge of design and construction, Kelly Blake Moran designed a system of inter-connected wetlands and lakes, including some that were adjacent to elevated fairways. The fairways were sloped and drained to the lakes and wetlands.

Club Montecastillo
Home of the Volvo Master's Cup, Montecastillo is mostly flat and features raised tees. But where the terrain takes control a downhill course has been laid out. An elevated tee looks down for forty meters over a broad sweep of fairway bordering a lake to the left with the green just beyond. There are long distances between green and tee and the panoramic 517-yard 9th hole is one of the favorites in Spain. La Canada Golf Club
Few municipal courses can boast of being designed by Robert Trent Jones. This 9-hole, par 35, 2599 meter course is situated high above the town, there are superb views to the Rio Guadiaro, the Mediterranean and Valderrama Golf. Offers some challenging holes – most especially the 9th which is played over a dramatic gulley.

Valderrama Golf Club
Originally designed in 1974 and re-designed in 1989 by leading course architect Robert Trent Jones, Valderrama is ranked in the top fifty courses of the world by Golf Magazine. Valderrama has hosted many prestigious tournaments including the first nine editions of the Volvo Masters (1988-1996), the Ryder Cup in 1997, and the World Golf Championships-American Express Championship in 1999 and 2000. Lovely old cork oak trees and over 500 olive trees line the medium wide fairways of Valderrama where you never seem to have a flat lie. The back nine is more difficult than the front and the most famous holes are 4 and 17. The amenability of the golf course to the handicap golfer and the severity to the championship player owe much to the extensive range of tees.

Cairns Golf Club
Cairns golf course is a challenging par 72 championship golf course set amidst tropical palms and swaying pandanus with spectacular views of the surrounding rainforest clad mountains. This course has been designed so that all levels of golfers can have a great day of golf.

Royal Cape Golf Club
With lovely views of Table Mountain from most holes, this championship course has hosted the South African Open no less than 11 times and the South African Amateur Championships eight times. The most recent South African Open held here was in 1996. Essentially, it is a flat parkland course, well-maintained, and offers a beautiful setting. The fairways are narrow and tree-lined, demanding accuracy off the tees. There is also plenty of water on the course.

Sparrebosch Golf Club
This is an 18 hole, par 72, 6900 meter long course. A sensational new golf course set upon the rolling hills of the Knysna Bluffs overlooking the Indian Ocean on one side and Knysna Lagoon on the other. Designed by Ronald Fream, Sparrebosch has a distinct links feel and is without a doubt a star of the future.

Campo de Golf La Manga
The North and South Courses of La Manga are located in a valley surrounded by mountains, with stunning views of the Mar Menor. The North Course is dominated by six lakes and demands more accuracy at the tee. The South Course, remodeled in 1993 by Arnold Palmer, is flat with generous fairways. Length and 10 artificial lakes define the layout. The West Course, situated in a mountain, was carved out of a pine forest and requires maximum ball control. In two halves, most of the ground must be made on the first nine.

Casablanca Golf Club
The Casablanca Golf Club has an 18-hole, 7011-yard championship Cal Olson designed course, owned and operated by people who love to play golf.

Royal Dar es Salaam
Commissioned by King Hassan II in 1970, Robert Trent Jones, Sr., designed this highly acclaimed course. The longest and most beautiful course in Morocco, the difficulty of Royal Dar es Salaam Golf Club has been underestimated in the past. In 1996, the club played host to the Hassan II Trophy, where Nick Price was the winner. The red course is the more difficult of the two courses. Located in the Temara forest on 1013 acres of cork oaks in a slightly undulating area. Among old Roman ruins, lavish grounds of mimosa, banana trees, cypress, eucalyptus, and towering cork trees line the bright green fairways.

Catania Golf Club
Silversea has no information about this course at this time, and the internet is bare of information, too, but since Sicily is so ruggedly resplendent, one can rest assured that golf here will be both challenging and beautiful.

Il Picciolo Golf Club
Another golf possibility in this area is the Il Picciolo Golf Club, about 45 km from Catania and only 25 km from Taormina (Catania-Messina highway, exit at Randazzo, than road for Linguglossa, junction for Castiglione di Sicilia).  This course is open all year and is closed on Tuesdays. It has a pro shop, cart rental, a swimming pool, at tennis court, and a 19th hole. Copenhagen Golf Club
Copenhagen Golf Course is an 18-hole, par 71, 6,303-yard-long course, set in a deer park, and located near Zealand, Denmark. Tel : 011 39 63 04 83 Fax : 011 39 63 46 83.

Corfu Golf & Country Club
The Corfu Golf Club is an 18-hole course. This course has been praised by many as one of the best kept in Europe. It was designed by the famous Swiss-based architect, Donald Harradine, and he has blended the natural resources of the lovely Ropa Valley with man-made hazards to make the course a good, but fair, test. It is as enjoyable for the scratch player as it is for the long handicap one. The magnificent greens of Penncross Bent are considered to be the finest in the Mediterranean; the tree-lined fairways and the sand traps combine with the several lakes and meandering streams to make an attractive picture against a backdrop of high hills.

Playacar Club de Golf
This challenging championship course designed by American architect Robert Von Hagge, is surrounded by the Mayan jungle and meanders between hilly and flat terrain, playing with many interesting and challenging holes.

Darwin Golf Club
Located in the heart of Darwin, the Darwin Golf Club is home to a tropical 18 hole Championship layout designed by Peter Thompson and Michael Wolveridge. Effluent watering during the dry season and superb wet season drainage ensure that luxuriant fairways and greens are well maintained all year round. The course demands accuracy from the tee, and a good touch on and around the greens. The large African mahogany and palm-lined fairways are skirted by out of bounds on almost every hole. Mastering the course is dependant on finding the right balance between patience and aggression.

Emirates Golf Club
The first grass course in the Middle East and favored venue of the PGA European Tour event, The Dubai Desert Classic, Emirates Golf Club has become a favorite of the world's top players. The original 7,101-yard, par 72 Majlis course is complemented with a second par 72 challenge, the 7,100-yard Wadi course. Both utilize the natural rolling desert terrain for a serious test of golf. The Majlis course, with its lush fairways and large greens, is a formidable test of golf, while the Wadi course adds further interest, with superbly positioned water hazards and desert rough.

Balcarrick Golf Club
An 18-hole, par 71, 5653-meter course, Balcarrick is distinguished by magnificent greens.

St. Clair Golf Club
Perched on the cliff next to Cargill's Castle with the famous 15th hole, rated one of the "Best 18 Holes of Golf in New Zealand," and featured in the December 2000 issue of "The Cut," the St. Clair Golf Club was founded in 1905.

Durban Country Club
Situated in the sand hills along the seaside, this course was designed in 1923 by Laurie Waters (Father of South African Golf). It sports narrow fairways, lined with many mature trees monkey-filled), elevated tees, and many sand bunkers amidst the thick brush. The winds from the Indian Ocean has hosted many National Championships. This is an 18 hole, par 72, 6600+ meter long course, and considered the best course in South Africa.

Gdansk Golf & Country Club
This is an 18-hole, par 72, 6,560-meter championship golf course. The club includes a pitching and chipping area, 250-meter driving range with covered bays, a practice bunker, and a putting green. The course stretches over 110 hectares of varied terrain with beautiful trees, lakes, and streams.

Golf Club Garlenda
This 18-hole course is open year 'round and closed on Wednesdays.

Rapallo Golf Club
Rapallo Golf Club is one of the oldest courses in Italy, located in the hills of the Italian Riviera. This is an 18-hole, par 70, 5,639-yard course. This course, just 800 meters from the town center, is laid out in century-old parkland surrounded by thoUSAnds of trees including cedars and cypresses and pines. The first hole borders on the entrance road to the town; a very tight starting point affected by the foliage of the age-old trees that flank it makes the golfer immediately aware that this is a demanding course for good players. Your drive must never fade in the frequent tee-shots for which you must loft your ball to pass over the Boate river that affects various holes (also as second shot to the green!). In this first part of the course, the player must "go round" without forcing his shots and fight off any psychological pressure that could induce errors. The second hole is unusual; it crosses the practice course; remember to ring the bell to avoid intersecting someone else's shot. The course has a second part towards a park: wonderful tee-shots from above towards the distant fairway. It's exciting to see that tiny white dot placed at the center of the fairway, watching from the top of a hill. In this high part, the course opens out. Difficult bunkers due to their width and depth defend the greens with different levels of inclination. The view is an important companion during the game! Breathtaking and stimulating, as at the 18th hole, another par 4 to cross the river. The green is close to the patio of the Club House and those eating and drinking will have a chance to appreciate, we hope, your good end of course performance!

Valderrama Golf Club

Valderrama has hosted many prestigious tournaments including the first nine editions of the Volvo Masters (1988-1996), the Ryder Cup in 1997, and the World Golf Championships-American Express Championship in 1999 and 2000. Lovely old cork oak trees and over 500 olive trees line the medium wide fairways of Valderrama where you never seem to have a flat lie. The back nine is more difficult than the front and the most famous holes are 4 and 17. Each hole has a Professional tee (6234 meters), a Club Championship tee (5864), an Executive tee (5481) and a Seniors' tee (5038), as well as a ladies Professional tee (5284) and a ladies Club tee (4863). The tees are differentiated not just by distance but by careful siting. The fairways are widely considered the best in Europe, while the greens have been compared by Davis Love and many others with Augusta. The course has been voted number 1 in Europe by Golf World Magazine.

Halifax Golf Club
An 18-hole, par 70, 6038 meter-long course that is a bit unusual and you can expect some wonderful views. There are some excellent holes, for example: the 1st and the 4th. Many have raved about the 17th hole…it is inspiring, but there are some better holes on the course. This course is highly exposed to the wind and calls for shot-making skills, but one gets much satisfaction from playing here as the turf is generally good.

Hamburg Golf Club
In Blankenese, Germany, the Hamburg Golf Club is 14 km west of Hamburg. It is an 18-hole, par 72, 6482-yard course. Tel: 011 40 812177 Fax: 01140 817315. Espoo Ringside Golf
Espoo Ringside Golf is located near the highways Keha III and Vihti in Nipperi, Espoo - 20 Kilometres from central Helsinki. Mr. Kosti Kuronen designed an 18- hole course for that is pleasant for the occasional golfer and a challenge even for top players. The hilly and verdant course includes four ponds and a brook. A large driving range and a separate practice area for short range golf.

Song be Golf Resort
This is Vietnam's first International Standard Championship Golf Course. Song Be Golf Resort is widely regarded as one of the most challenging and stimulating in the country. The 100 hectares of the golf resort was built out of the natural landscape of fruit orchard and coconut palms and was opened for play since 1994.The 18 hole resort style layout features at least 10 lakes with tree-lined fairways. Water comes into play in eight of the 18 holes. Playing off from the blue tees is a challenge as the total length measures a whopping 6,384 meters. However if you would like to take it a little easy, the white tees would be more forgiving and yet challenging. This is a walking course and all the caddies are female. The course has been officially rated in accordance with the USGA/SGA requirements.

Royal Hobart Golf Club
The Royal Hobart Golf Course features broad sweeping fairways, large and exceedingly fast greens and 80 strategically placed bunkers. Requiring thought and concentration, the picturesque surroundings of the bush land to a tranquil, relaxing atmosphere that enables the golfer to focus on the game. Designed by H. V. Morcom, the 6,115-metre par-72 championship course is often referred to as one of the finest in the country. Golfers will find this course a challenge to play requiring thought and concentration. Located just 15 minutes from the city, the Royal Hobart has hosted many tournaments, including the 1971 Australian open,1990 Australian Ladies Championship, and the 1991 Tasmanian Open.

Invergordon Golf Club
An 18 hole, par 69, 6040 meter long course. Located in the high-lands of Scotland in the former Admiralty town of Invergordon, the Invergordon Golf Club was formed in 1883. The course is set in the picturesque surroundings of the Cromarty Firth and is easily accessible from the main north/south A9 route. The course provides 18 holes of challenging golf for both the beginner and advanced golfer and is noted for its lush fairways surrounded by trees and rhododendrons.

Klassis Golf & Country Club
The 18-hole, 73 par, 6200-meter golf course of the Klassis Golf & Country Club was designed by one of the world's foremost golfers, Tony Jacklin, and entirely meets European norms and standards. The number 2 hole, is the "Signature Hole" of Klassis Golf & Country Club. As the most difficult and the most challenging hole of the course, number 2 is 559 meters long and with water on the drive and the fairway slopes going towards the water hazard. As well as the Championship Course the club also has a 9-hole Academy Course for those who are new to this very enjoyable social sport. There is also a 230-meter-long driving range and putting green. Having hosted PGA European Challenge Tour in 1997 and 1998 and PGA Seniors Tour in 1999, the Championship Course is the major venue for both international and local tournaments.

Trummenas Golf Club
This club offers two golf courses, both challenging. One is an 18-hole, 6126-yard course, and the other, Trummenas 2, is a shorter, and partly seaside 9-hole course. The 18-hole course also sports some beautiful sea views. These courses, as yet, are not described on the Silversea web site. Tel: 011 455  60505. Orkney Golf Club
An 18-hole, par 67, 5411-meter-long course. Ideal for iron players. You don't really need any woods. It is flat and easy to get around. If ever a golf course were designed for visitors, then this is surely it. Superb views of the north isles and Kirkwall can be seen from all parts of the course. The course is fairly flat and easy on the legs but is at all times a challenge to players of all levels.

Nexus Resort
The 18-hole championship course crafted by the world renowned Ronald Fream Design Group, is nestled within the splendor of Karambunai and surrounded by undulating terrain and tricky greens. It is superbly covered with Bermuda Hybrid on the fairways and Tifwarf on its greens. Every care is taken to ensure that the scenic, natural and rural character of the area is preserved, leaving behind matured trees and shrubs in its original position. On the whole, the overall golf design strategy poses a challenge to golfers to obtain a good score. Water is used as an aesthetic element to offer mental refreshment and contributes significantly to the visual richness of the elegant tropical setting. After a challenging game of golf, members and guests can savor delicious meals at the Golfers’ Lounge. The Club treats every member and guest with equal honor and they are entitled to utilize the VIP Lounge and the Locker Room. Baberton Golf Club
An 18-hole, par 69, 6129-meter course. This is a lovely parkland course with long testing par 4's that are a feature to try out with your long irons. The par 3's are tricky with well guarded greens, a well maintained course that offers a variety of shot making, and suits players of all abilities.

Belas Country Club
Spreading among the hills, Belas Country Club provides an excellent view over the Sintra Mountain range. Designed by William "Rocky" Roquemore, this is an 18-hole, par 72, 6380-meter course divided into to different sections: The first crosses a naturally preserved landscape, the second borders beautiful homes that are part of the development.

Cosmopolitan Country Club
The Cosmopolitan Country Club is one of the most competitive courses in Tuscany. It is a semi-private, four tee, par 73, 6291-meter course. The Cosmopolitan Country Club is a real golfers' golf course. Voted best new golf course in Italy in 1993, it is a "must play" for the golfing enthusiast. Four tee areas vary the setup option on each hole. The holes offer great variety. Most greens are large, and the fairways have been strategically mounded to define play. Water comes into play on 11 holes, and vast sand bunkers surround most of holes 3, 8 and 16. The par 4, 16th hole is actually an island in the sand that, at 298 meters, makes the tee shot a thinking man's challenge. Both 9 & 18 finish to the clubhouse, with strategic par 5 water carries. The Cosmopolitan is a seaside course that cleverly combines wind, sand and water in tactical layout, as exemplified by the substantial sand bunker that guards the double green of the 3rd and 7th holes. A great course to play!

Wentworth Golf Course
This is an 18-hole par 72 6739-meter course. There are three 18-hole championship standard courses and one 9-hole course with Surrey heath land, woodlands of pine, oak, and birch trees.

Christchurch Golf Club
The game of golf came to Christchurch in 1873 - the year the Christchurch Golf Club was founded. After locating for a period of time at two other sites, the perfect piece of golfing country was found in 1900, and the Club has resided at the Shirley Links Course since that date. The Christchurch Golf Club at Shirley is one of New Zealand's most prestigious and longest established clubs. Rated in the top five in New Zealand this course is a "must play" and apart from the golf, the Club features a traditional English designed clubhouse with food and refreshments available each day. There is also a brand new Professional Shop stocking the latest in golf equipment including an extensive range of clothing. Having recently undergone redevelopment work under the expert eye of renowned golf Architect and champion golfer of yesteryear Peter Thomson the course features prominent fairway bunkers, wide, well groomed fairways and slick greens. This great facility caters for visitors to Christchurch and is only ten minutes from the city centre, but standing on the first tee at Shirley you could be forgiven for thinking you were in a golfers paradise - it has that feel about it.

Club Son Parc Menorca
Club Son Parc is located on the Urbanisation of Son Parc, a large holiday complex situated on the Northern Coast between Fornells and Arenal d’en Castell. The golf course features 9 holes, a yardage of approximately 3000 and a slope grade of 128.

Real Club de Campo
Real Club de Campo de Malaga is situated near the Mediterranean coast. This course is the oldest course on this particular coast line. To play Real Club de Campo de Malaga you need to have a plan and a powerful and accurate stroke. The course is part links part parkland. It is a relatively flat course with wide tree-lined fairways adding a degree of difficulty. Golfers can play at this wonderful course all year 'round.

Valderrama Golf Club
Originally designed in 1974 and re-designed in 1989 by leading course architect Robert Trent Jones, Valderrama is ranked in the top fifty courses of the world by Golf Magazine. Valderrama has hosted many prestigious tournaments including the first nine editions of the Volvo Masters (1988-1996), the Ryder Cup in 1997, and the World Golf Championships-American Express Championship in 1999 and 2000. Lovely old cork oak trees and over 500 olive trees line the medium wide fairways of Valderrama where you never seem to have a flat lie. The back nine is more difficult than the front and the most famous holes are 4 and 17. The amenability of the golf course to the handicap golfer and the severity to the championship player owe much to the extensive range of tees.

Fregate Golf Club
Set amid vineyard and olive groves with the Mediterranean Sea as its background, Fregate offers one of the most beautiful courses in all of Europe. Designed by Ronald Fream, the 18-hole, par 72 championship course presents challenges for ever level of play. For the avid golfer, there are also an FIG-certified, 9-hole, executive course, two putting greens, and a driving range.

This 18-hole, par 71 golf course was designed by Michel Gabon and is challenging as well as impeccably groomed. Royal Melbourne Golf Club
The Royal Melbourne Golf Club, which has existed continuously from 1891, is regarded as the oldest golf club in Australia. There are two courses of 18 holes each, the East Course and the West Course, as well as a Championship Course made up of 12 holes, the Composite Course, which is currently rated No. 6 in the World. The signature hole for the Royal Melbourne is the 5th West hole.

The Spring Valley Golf Club
Spring Valley Golf Club is a beautiful and challenging golf course situated on Melbourne's famous sand belt. In recent years the championship standard course has been host to the PGA player's school and the Senior Open Golf Championship of Australia.

Il Picciolo Golf Club
The beautiful 18 holes are among oaks, hazels and vineyards. The Mt. Etna Volcano is the great attraction of the course; it dominates almost every hole and also allows the fantastic emotion of discovering lava flows all around from time to time. At a height of 650 meters above the sea, there is cooling fresh air in the summers. Most excursions to Mount Etna start in the town of Linguglossa, about 10 kilometers away.

Mombasa Golf Club
Rated among the oldest courses in Kenya, The Mombasa Club was started in 1911. The club has a course of nine holes consisting of eight greens and is surrounded by a beautiful coral reef with powdery white-sand beach. On the front course of the club, the nine holes measure a distance of 2888 yards and 2949 yards at the back. The course front is said to be the most interesting to play because of the surrounding Indian Ocean. It also hosts an annual Coast Open tournament that usually takes place in August.

Monte Carlo Golf Club

Club de Golf de Uruguay
The club is situated in the south-center part of the city, just five minutes from the center of town. The estate covers 36 hectares of wooded park, facing the sea, in the middle of a beautiful residential area. 18 Hole course designed by A. McKenzie in 1934; 6485 yards.

Royal Montreal Golf Club
A 45-hole course founded in 1873 by architect Dick Wilson and Joe Lee. This course consists of the Blue, Red and Black (Dixie) courses, with the Black being a 9 holer for juniors and beginners. The blue course hosts the Canadian Open, and has water on 6 of the last nine holes. This course is fabulous! It is a course that will challenge the best of golfers as Tiger Woods showed us in1997. The blue course, that hosts the open, is a very challenging course. You better hope that you do well on the first 14 holes because from the opinion of a AA caddie, the last four holes will kill you!

Royal Brunei Golf & Country Club
This club is considered amongst the top courses in Asia, and possibly the most unique golfing venue in the world. This course was designed by the American landscape architect, Ronald Fream, who refers to the course as the "Augusta National of Asia". It is certainly the most dramatic and challenging course in Brunei. It is consistently maintained to the high standards demanded by the USA PGA, and his majesty. The specially designed drainage system guarantees year round play, and the greens are fast. It's common to spot a troupe of monkeys taking a leisurely sojourn across the fairway, or to see a majestic Brahminy kite soar searching for prey, or to hear the distinct call of Borneo's hornbill. This is an 18 hole, par 72 course with a slope rating of 120.

Bombay Presidency Golf Club
The 110-acre Bombay Presidency Golf Club at Chembur is a green haven in an otherwise urban environment. Founded in 1827, the par 70, 18 hole course was redesigned by Peter Thompson to international standards. Presidency's fairways are narrow and tight, but its greens are undoubtedly the best in the country. The real test at Presidency, however, is the variable and shifting sea breeze, which could fox even the most experienced player. It is not a difficult course; it's not too long, not too narrow, and yet not an easy course to break par. The fifth hole is one of the most challenging on this course: a 480-yard, par five, a dog leg to the right, with a fairway trap strategically placed to catch the long hitter trying to cut the corner. The drive on this has to be placed carefully. If too long and pulled, it would end up in deep trouble. With a well placed drive around the fairway bun-the two overhanging trees on the right, is a comfortable par five. The 416 yard, par four 11th hole is also a test of precision golfing. The player has to steer his drive through trees overhanging on either side, a short distance from the tee. The fairly tight fairway has thick scrub and trees on the left, a water hazard and an out-of-bounds on the right - with perhaps the trickiest and fastest green of this course. With the pin placed towards the left edge, the approach would roll off into the thick roughs, and not even a miracle would allow a par. Of the par threes, the 17th hole is the longest at 218 yards. The green is deceptive with deep bunkers on either side, and the rippled fairway can make a loose tee shot veer sharply.

Oporto Golf Course
Established in 1890, it is, after Pau, in France, the second oldest course in Continental Europe. Tradition is the best word to describe the club, perhaps because it was established by British residents of Porto. The Skeffington Cup, which since 1891 has been played annually in the club, is the oldest competition in the sport to have been played without interruption.

Miramar Golf Course
Situated on the northern coast of Portugal, and inaugurated in 1932,.   Miramar's nine holes, some of whose tees are situated on top of sand dunes, are almost all framed by ocean views.

Oslo Golf Club
This is an 18-hole, par 72, 7351-meter course. This is the oldest course in the Oslo area. It is situated in open parkland, bordering a large lake and thus providing some very interesting natural water hazard holes. The course is interesting and yet fairly easy to play. The club also has good driving range, pro shop and restaurant facilities.

Son Vida Club de Golf
Son Vida golf course, one of the most attractive and well-known 18-hole golf courses on Mallorca, is currently undergoing an intensive renovation. The course will remain closed until the renovation is finished at the end of January 2002. Responsible for the project is the renowned golf course designer Kurt Rossknecht. The aim has been to retain the original design of the course and enhance it even further. You can look forward to newly designed greens, prepared with A4-seed, a first class type of turf found in only very few golf courses in Europe. It promises very fast greens. Another challenge will be the new ponds- for example hole 18, where you will now have to play your shot across water. The quality of the soil has been greatly improved by adding another layer of humus and removing large parts of the sandy underground. Fairways have been sown with Bermuda grass “Savannah”, which in its present form has only been on the market for a very short time. All tees have of course been greatly improved. Son Vida will also be ideal for the less experienced golfer, as the renovation will create a challenging but fair environment. Redesigned bunkers, new bunkers in strategically important spots and the lowering of fairways 13 and 18 as well as green 12 will enable a challenging yet the same time achievable game of golf. Son Vida will be at the cutting edge of technology, with a state-of-the art sprinkler system allowing to control each sprinkler individually and guaranteeing an environmentally friendly operation by using regenerated wastewater only. The entire golf course will be accessible by golf kart, as all the driveways along the fairways have been widened.

Kristal Golf Resort
Kristal Golf Resort is a brand new layout with an amazing maturity attained from retaining some of the lush oil palms that once covered this verdant valley. The backdrop boasts the luxuriant and picturesque northern mountain range that divides west from east. Its setting is dramatic at times but also charming and challenging. Off the blue tees, Kristal is a long and arduous course where you have to weave your golf ball through narrow and well-defined boundaries. Such discipline is never easy, but you will be amply rewarded by fairly kind and receptive green complexes that give you a chance to hit their broadsides without too much trouble, converting regulation approaches to pars quite easily.
